World’s most expensive car: Bugatti La Voiture Noire

12 July 2019

Bugatti La Voiture Noire is said to be the world’s most expensive car. Besides being beautiful, it has a striking history with multiple reasons for fame. Find out all about it here.

Just a few months ago Bugatti unveiled its breathtaking La Voiture Noire at the 2019 Geneva Auto Show. Bugatti has certainly taken a detour from manufacturing affordable luxury cars but what makes this car so special? Let’s find out here:

Bugatti hasn’t actually unveiled the price of the Bugatti La Voiture Norie, but rumour has it this machine will come with an eight-figure price tag of €11 million before tax. At this price, the supercar will surpass its rival, the Rolls Royce Sweptail, worth $12,800,000, which was bought by a private client in 2017.

Performance and build

You can bet that at that price tag, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire has handcrafted features and in fact comes with a hand-crafted carbon-fiber body. Pristine lines carefully sculpted across the breadth of the vehicle speaks volumes about the kind of manual work the Bugatti’s engineers have put into making the La Voiture Noir. Signature Bugatti C lines are prominent on the extended front, with an electrifying black glossy exterior. Smoothly integrated bumpers and seamlessly flowing windscreens are heightened by the uniquely styled windows on either side of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire.

Speaking of performance, the La Voiture Noire boasts a powerful 16-cylinder engine having a capacity of eight litres. The actual powertrain is yet to be confirmed, though.

What makes it so special?

At a glance, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire loosely resembles the Chiron-based Divo’s exterior. The hand-crafted carbon fibre body was crafted by the Bugatti team over a period of more than six months. Company representatives are speculating that the car will take another two and a half years to complete. Another special element about this supercar is that it is a modern bravado of the classic Bugatti Type 57 which was designed by founder Ettore Bugatti’s son, Jean, during the 1940s.

Has anyone bought it yet?

Despite the jaw-dropping eight-figure price, one private Bugatti aficionado is confirmed as a private purchaser of the car for an estimated price of €16.7 million (£14.4 million)- including tax.

Recently, rumors surfaced on the Internet that football star, Christiano Ronaldo, purchased the stunning vehicle. However, the official representatives denied any such purchase made by the football star.
