Do you know your car’s safety rating? With the amount of road accidents in South Africa, it comes as no surprise as to why car buyers are increasingly factoring in vehicle safety. The fact that all cars sold in SA have to meet certain safety rules set by the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) gives buyers some peace of mind that basic safety standards are met. However, buyers still don’t have an easy way to compare how well different cars actually perform in crash tests. While you can compare safety features by checking car specs or using comparison tools online, this doesn't show how well cars hold up in real-life crash situations.
