Kia Seltos SP3 Series: What You Need to Know About Price and Features
December 2025 revealed something fun and reliable to the crossover segment. The world got its first look at the new Kia Seltos, 2nd Generation of the Kia Sportage. Needless to say, it's made some improvements in practicality, interior space, bolder body styling, and updated technology.
At the time this article was written (26 March), India and South Africa were still waiting on a launch date, but it was confirmed that the mystery launch will be in 2026.
The New Kia Seltos Specs
Based on global news and images, the Kia Seltos specs tell us a whole new story, a slightly ‘bigger’ story compared to its predecessors. The new and improved crossover has seen a number of changes, from the shape and lights to a bolder, larger body design.
Kia fans can enjoy standard features across the X-Line and GT-line: multiple cladding styles, wide taillamps and alloy wheels ranging from 16 to 19 inches.
Thanks to the larger dimensions, the interior cabin has more than enough legroom, boot space (103 litres more than designed), and headroom for every passenger. You can expect 2nd-row reclining and sliding seats, adjustable too.
Keep in mind that trim levels vary by country, so specs for the Kia Seltos in South Africa might not match those in other markets.
At the front of the cabin, specifically in the automatic lineup, Kia focused on keeping things “clutter-free” and “premium”.
International specs list a couple of highlights on the Seltos equipment list. Features such as:
- Panoramic sunroof
- 64-colour mood lighting
- Premium sound systems (Harman Kardon and Bose)
- Head-up display
- Surround-view monitor
- Panoramic displays: 12.3-inch, combined with a new climate control panel
Powertrain and Performance
Based on international models, the Kia Seltos comes fitted with a balanced selection of powertrain choices. However, it’s best not to get excited when orders come in very differently, as what one country receives won’t be adopted by another.
One version produces 132 kW and 265 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The turbo engine delivers a powerful 142 kW and is mated with an 8-speed transmission.
A 2.0-litre petrol engine was also included internationally, with an output of 110kW and 179Nm. Certain models will come with all-wheel drive, multi-link rear suspension, and terrain mode.
On top of that, Kia Global also mentioned that a hybrid variant will be revealed at a later stage, though specs and technical details have not been confirmed. India’s market will keep the outgoing model’s powertrain choices, which include a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol mill, and its 1.5-litre turbodiesel motor.
It’s likely South Africa will adopt the same powertrain options, considering we work closely with India.
Kia Seltos Price
The price of the Kia Seltos SP3-Series has yet to be confirmed for the local market, nor in countries like India, as the launch is only expected to happen this year.
As for the current lineup, South Africans have 10 options to choose from. From the base level retailing at R259,995 up to the top tier trim value of R 596,995 – there’s great value for money considering there are 8 derivatives to choose from within that price range.
